Ghermandi wins with Civic Type R TCR Giacomo Ghermandi scored his first TCR Eastern Europe victory as the Honda Civic Type R TCR was once again a race-winner at the Red Bull Ring last weekend.
The MM Motorsport driver started second on the Race-Two grid in his JAS Motorsport-built touring car and spectacularly went wheel-to-wheel with two other cars between Turns Two and Five to snatch the advantage.
Once ahead, he built a small, but significant lead that varied between 1.1 and 1.5 seconds for the majority of the race and claimed a popular success.
He had qualified and finished second the previous day, only to be penalised 30s for an incorrect starting procedure and drop to eighth. He is second in the Drivers’ Championship.
